Sollte also einmal etwas nicht funktionieren, muss nur der Weg von Plus nach Minus verfolgt werden. Da Minus an der Masse (Karosserie) angeschlossen ist, sind auch oft nur schlechte Masseverbindungen die Ursache für diverse Probleme. Ähnliches gilt für die Zündung. Ein Satz neue Zündleitungen und ein Wechsel der Verschleißteile wie Verteilerfinger und –Kappe wirken oft Wunder.
