Das Thema Elektrik ist für die meisten Schrauber ein rotes Tuch. Dabei ist das meist unbegründet. Denn Strom geht, ähnlich wie Wasser, einfach den Weg des geringsten Wiederstandes. Sollte also einmal etwas nicht funktionieren, muss nur der Weg von Plus nach Minus verfolgt werden. Da Minus an der Masse (Karosserie) angeschlossen ist, sind auch oft nur schlechte Masseverbindungen die Ursache für diverse Probleme. Ähnliches gilt für die Zündung. Ein Satz neue Zündleitungen und ein Wechsel der Verschleißteile wie Verteilerfinger und –Kappe wirken oft Wunder.
